Bio Mass Co Firing Project for Steam Coal Fired Power Plant PLN
There are 113 Steam Coal Fired Power Plant with a total capacity of 18,895 megawatts (MW) that have the potential to be applied to biomass co-firing.

However, this co-firing will only be carried out in 52 Steam Coal Fired Power Plant with the potential for an additional 1.8 GW of renewable energy electricity production. The co-firing program is one of PLN's strategic transformation programs in achieving a 23% renewable energy mix by 2025

According to the draft of Electricity Energy Planning, this co-firing will be implemented in 13 Steam Coal Fired Power Plant Units on Sumatra Island, 10 Units in Kalimantan, 6 Units in Sulawesi, 3 Units in Maluku and Papua, 16 Units in Java and Madura, and 4 Units in Bali and Nusa Tenggara.

The assumption of green electricity production from co-firing is 1.8 GW if the percentage of biomass used can be up to 6% in PC type boilers, 50% in CFB, and 70% at Stoker.
