National Laptop Project Worth Rp 17 Trillion (US$ 1.1 Billion)

Project Owner : Coordinating Ministry for Maritime Affairs and Investment Description : The project with the name "Laptop Merah Putih" is intended to boost local laptop manufacturer, so that Indonesia does not keep importing products. The government will spend Rp 17 trillion to produce laptops made by some national producers. The government make summary for the need for ICT products, starting from the kindergarden level to the high school level from 2021 to 2024. These products needed include 1.3 million laptop units, 99 thousand connectors, 99 thousand LCD projectors, 12 thousand projector screens, and others. . For the procurement of these laptops, the required budget is Rp US$ 950 million from the national budget, and US$ 1.8 billion. The project funding come from the special allocation fund for national education budget post. Currently, a contract for the procurement of domestic products worth US$ 750 million has been signed.
